 The Calendars displayed will have the daily craft for the art studio listed.  The crafts are available all day in the art studio.  The special events and programs listed will also list the times and dates the programs are available, and if there is an additional cost for the program.

  Special Events & Programs

The special events and programs listed are offered on the dates and times listed only.  Children must sign up for the program as they are entering Otterville.  Spaces are limited for the programs and are excepted on a first come-first serve basis.  Pre-Registration & reservations are not accepted.  You must be present to register for a program.  Announcements for the start of the programs are not made so please be aware of the time and try to arrive promptly in the events room.  Group programs are available upon request, 2 day notice is required for all group programs.  To schedule a group program call Sandy at (859)491-1441 Monday - Friday 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m.

August

August 2nd - 6th

Dinosaurs - Learn about Stacey, Otterville's own Deinonychus Dinosaur buried right out back!  We will learn what she looked like as well as other dinosaurs.   We will listen to exciting tales and make a dinosaur craft!  We'll finish up outside, where we'll see if we can dig up Stacey's bones! Time: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

August 9th - 13th

Under Water Animals - We will listen to an under the ocean story the we will learn about animals that live in the water.  Next, we will make an aquarium craft while enjoying a fishy snack. Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

August 16th - 20th

Luau - Join our fun luau!  We will be making a lei to wear then we will dance to music and play games!  Bring your swim suit we'll finish up by playing in Otterville's outdoor spray park! Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

August 23rd - 27th

End of Summer Party! - Let's end the summer with a bang!  In this program we will be playing summer bingo, where everyone is sure to be a winner!  Next, we will all enjoy a nice tasty ice cream sundae!  Bring your swim suit and towel for one last run around the outdoor spray area before it closes for the season!  Times: 11:00a.m; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

August 30th & 31st

Zoo Fun - We will begin by reading the book There's A Strike At The Zoo, followed by a craft that is sure to make everyone laugh!  Children will be making a lion craft using glue, scissors, and craft material.  Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

September 7th - 10th

Child Safety Week - It's Nation Child Safety Week (September6-12) and Otterville has a special safety program for kids!  We will listen to a story about a lost little critter and discuss safety issues with the kids.  Then each child will get to make a firts aid kit to take home and share with their family.  Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

September 13th - 17th

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with Dora!!  Dora invites you to go on an Otterville adventure.  Dora's map will help us find our way! We will begin with story time, followed by preparing our very own backpack friends.  Our exploration will begin by reading our map to help Dora find her way around Otterville.  Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

September 20th - 24th

Frogs & Lizards - How much do you know about frogs and lizards? In this program we will learn about these animals, where they live and what they like to eat!  We will make a craft and maybe even see some live animals too!  Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.l & 2:30p.m.

September 27th - 30th

Apples - In celebration of Johnny Appleseed's birthday, we will begin with a story about his life.  Next, we will make an apple sachet to take home and finish up with a tasty apple treat!  Times: 11:00a.m.; 1:30p.m.; & 2:30p.m.

2nd Annual Fall Festival

Join us for an afternoon of fun! Each child will get to start with a ride on the Pumpkin Express to Totter's very own Pumpkin Patch where each child will get to pick his/her own pumpkin to paint!  Next, come on over to the festival where we will be tye-dying t-shirts, roasting marshmallows, getting our face painting, playing fun festival games and much more!!!

$12.95 per child with advanced ticket purchase / $14.95 per child day of festival (includes regular $7.95 Otterville admission)

$7.00 per child for yearly pass members with advanced ticket purchase / $9.00 per child for yearly pass members day of festival

Cost includes all materials, pumpkins, toys, and t-shirts

Time: 11:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.

October 1st - 31st

Pumpkin Patch

Take a ride on the Pumpkin Express to Totter's Pumpkin Patch where each child can select their very own pumpkin to take home!  There will be a pumpkin decorating station set up in the art studio where children can take their pumpkins and decorate them. 

Cost $2.00 (in addition to regular $7.95 Otterville admission)

Times: Monday - Friday 11:30a.m. - 12:30p.m.

           Saturdays & Sundays 11:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.
